Accounting and tax
Bookkeeping, annual accounts, VAT and payroll for Swiss companies, kept to Swiss standards and filed on time.
Swiss companies keep books to a defined standard and file on a fixed calendar. We run that for GmbH and AG clients, most of whom are owner-managed and based outside Switzerland.
Scope
Bookkeeping
Monthly, quarterly or annual, depending on volume and VAT status.
Annual financial statements
Balance sheet, income statement and notes, prepared to the Swiss Code of Obligations.
VAT
Registration where the threshold is met, periodic returns and annual reconciliation.
Corporate tax returns
Federal and cantonal returns prepared and filed.
Payroll
Salary statements, social security registration and contributions, year-end certificates.
Management reporting
Where you need a monthly position rather than an annual one.
Statutory audit is a separate function and is performed by a licensed audit firm, not by us. Most small Swiss companies can opt out of a full audit where the conditions are met. We tell you which side of the line you're on.
- 01What are the reporting deadlines?
- Annual accounts must be approved within six months of the financial year end; tax return deadlines are cantonal and extensions are usually available on request.
- 02Do you work with accounts kept in another currency?
- Accounts may be kept in the functional currency of the business, with a CHF presentation for tax purposes. We'll confirm what applies to your case.
- 03Can you take over books started elsewhere?
- Yes. We reconcile the opening position first, which is normally a one-off exercise at the start of the mandate.
